Charges added against man arrested Tuesday

A Baltimore man arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated Tuesday morning is also accused of shattering a patrol car's windshield and spitting on two officers, county police said.

Officer Thomas Tyzack was driving south on Fort Smallwood Road near Solley Road about 1:10 a.m. when he saw a 1994 Mercury Cougar closing in on him from behind. The Mercury stopped short of his patrol car and skidded. Officer Tyzack arrested the driver after he failed a field sobriety test, police said.

While in the patrol car, the suspect kicked the windshield until it ,, shattered, police said. As Officer Tyzack and another officer tried to take the suspect from the car to put ankle cuffs on him, the man spat on them, police said.

Scott A. Willasch, 26, of the 7000 block of Timberfield Place was charged with driving while intoxicated, malicious destruction and assault and battery.
