Virginia women top Loyola, 13-10

Anna Yates scored five goals and had two assists, leading No. 12 Virginia past No. 7 Loyola, 13-10, in a women's lacrosse game in Charlottesville, Va., yesterday.

Virginia (6-6) led 11-7 with 19 minutes left, but the Greyhounds (9-4) scored three straight goals to pull with 11-10. Yates then scored twice within 32 seconds to ice it.

Beth Potter and Lisa Pizak each added three goals for Virginia. Betsy Given (Broadneck), Suzy Waire (Loch Raven) and Allison Valentino (Atholton) each scored two goals for Loyola.

Men

* Lehigh 15, Mount St. Mary's 4: Todd Moyer scored four goals, leading host Lehigh (10-3) past Mount St. Mary's (2-10). Todd Sauer led Mount St. Mary's with two goals.

* Massachusetts 8, Harvard 6: Brendan Glass scored five goals, leading No. 14 UMass (4-3) past visiting and No. 18 Harvard (4-5).

* Brown 24, New Hampshire 8: Brian McNally scored five goals and four assists to lead No. 9 Brown (6-4) past visiting New Hampshire.
