SHA officials to discuss changes to Route 140

Greater Westminster Development Corp. and Carroll County Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring a public information meeting tonight on the impact of Route 140 changes on Westminster businesses.

Officials from the State Highway Administration will be available to explain alternates 3-A, 3-B and 3-C, which will displace up to 16 businesses and effect others.

The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Wilhelm Ltd. Caterers. It is open to the public, and Westminster business people are encouraged to attend.

FIRE

* Silver Run: Pleasant Valley, Westminster and Littlestown of Adams County, Pa., were dispatched to a house fire in the 4600 block of Old Hanover Road at 7:29 a.m. Friday. Units were out one hour.

* Westminster: Westminster and Reese firefighters were dispatched to investigate a fire alarm sounding in a building on Locust Street at 4:19 a.m. Friday. Units were out 42 minutes.

Westminster Fire Company responded to a cleanup detail on Littlestown Pike at 5:35 p.m. Thursday. Firefighters were out for 21 minutes.

Westminster firefighters responded to a report of a natural gas odor on East Main Street at 1:50 p.m. Thursday. They were out 15 minutes.
