Part of Route 3 closed briefly after gas leak
Anne Arundel County firefighters closed a stretch of Route 3 Saturday night after discovering a propane gas leak at a filling station in Millersville. The leak was sealed, and no injuries were reported, firefighters said.
Firefighters received reports about the leak about 10:30 p.m. Saturday and traced the source to Suburban Propane Co. at 630 Route 3.
They found a crack in a discharge line used to fill propane trucks, said Fire Chief Gary Sheckells.
Firefighters sealed the gas valves and contacted the company to repair the leak.
No one was evacuated from the sparsely populated area, and Route 3 was reopened about two hours later.
