Gunman clubs manager, then robs Dollar Store

April 13, 1995

A gunman attacked a Laurel store manager Tuesday afternoon, forced him to the floor, clubbed him and stole an undisclosed amount of cash, county police said.

The manager of the Dollar Store in the 3400 block of Fort Meade Road told police he was walking along a back hallway with a money bag when a man came up behind him and forced him to the floor about 5:20 p.m., police said.

When the manager tried to get up, his assailant pulled out a semiautomatic handgun and hit him in the ribs, police said.

The gunman threatened to kill the manager, then forced him into an office. The manager locked the door and called police.

The robber took the money bag and ran out the front door, police said.
