Restaurant manager flees, thwarts robber

April 11, 1995

A healthy dose of fear helped a restaurant manager foil an attempted robbery of a Popeye's chicken restaurant Sunday night. The manager panicked and ran to the back of the store, and the would-be robber left empty-handed, county police said.

The manager told police that the man came into the restaurant in the 5300 block of Ritchie Highway about 8:50 p.m. and handed her a note that read, "Give me all the money or I will shoot you," police said.

The manager responded by running to the back of the store, and the man left without getting any money, police said.
