A man who said he had a gun robbed a Crofton 7-Eleven early yesterday of an undisclosed amount of money, county police said.

The man walked into the store in the 2000 block of Davidsonville Road about 1:10 a.m. He thrust his right hand in his coat pocket and told the clerk, Janet Marie Kelly, 18, that he had a gun and ordered her to give him money from the cash register and a time safe.

Ms. Kelly complied, and the bandit walked from the store, police said.

Couple arrested on drug charges

County police said they arrested a Severn couple Sunday afternoon after finding 20 vials of suspected cocaine on the driver's side floorboard of the car in which they were riding.

Police stopped the car about 3 p.m. on Old Donaldson Avenue behind Severn-Danza Park because it had a broken taillight. The driver had a suspended license and appeared to be intoxicated, police said.

Officers searched the car and found the suspected drugs.

Terrence Jay Goode, 35, of 700 block of Donaldson Ave. was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a suspended license and possession and distribution of cocaine.

The passenger, Melissa Pouncey, 27, of the same address, was charged with possession of cocaine.
