No. 6 Loyola women fall in OT to No. 11 Harvard

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Junior midfielder Megan Hall skipped a 12-foot shot into the net 55 seconds into overtime as No. 11 Harvard edged No. 6 Loyola, 6-5, at Ohiri Field yesterday. Harvard sophomore goalkeeper Kat Schutt made two saves during the remainder of the six-minute overtime session.

Jeanne Harrington scored her third goal of the first half at 13:58 to give the Greyhounds a 4-0 lead. But the Crimson (4-2) shut down the Loyola attack for the next 40:02, which allowed Harvard to crawl back into the game.

The Greyhounds (7-3) took a 5-4 lead when Betsy Given broke the drought with six minutes left in regulation. Harvard senior midfielder Sarah Winters scored 24 seconds later to send the game into overtime.

Dana Hoffman made 17 saves for Loyola, which outshot Harvard 7-4 in overtime.
