April 10, 1995

Richard Eugene Anderson, 55, of Shrewsbury, Pa., injured in the first of two Carroll County airplane crashes last week, has been upgraded from critical to serious and stable condition, a Maryland Shock Trauma Center official said yesterday.

Mr. Anderson was injured when a single-engine Cessna 152 crashed Thursday in a plowed field in Finksburg. The pilot, Joan Marie Macri, 35, of the 9500 block of Tailspin Lane remained in serious but stable condition at Shock Trauma last night.

Angela Pownell, 28, of Hampstead, remained in critical and unstable condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital last night with injuries she suffered in the crash Friday of a Cessna Skyhawk 2 in Eldersburg that claimed three lives.
