PHILADELPHIA -- Sophomore midfielder Dave Coldwell scored three goals in the second half to pace Drexel to a 12-11 victory over UMBC yesterday at Drexel Field.

UMBC (4-5) jumped to a 3-0 lead on goals by Brian Belford, Matt Shearer and Chad Henry. Drexel (3-5) trimmed the lead to 5-4 by halftime, before Craig Caputo, who scored twice, led a six-goal third quarter that gave Drexel a 10-8 lead.

Shearer and Greg Sabo scored early in the fourth to tie it at 10, but Coldwell and Brian Diener scored at 6:36 and 11:05, respectively, to pull Drexel ahead. Sabo's goal at 12:29 provided for the final margin.
