Free agent Kruk won't attend camp

CLEARWATER, Fla. -- First baseman John Kruk said yesterday denied reports that he might retire.

"I ain't retiring -- not that I know of, anyway," he said. "But I ain't going to Homestead, either."

The Players Association will open a tryout camp tomorrow in Homestead, Fla., to allow the nearly 200 unsigned free agents to practice and display their skills.
