Real estate firm selects manager in Hampstead

O'Conor, Piper & Flynn recently named Stanley Dill the new manager of its Hampstead office.

Mr. Dill, a real estate agent for 10 years, has worked for O'Conor, Piper & Flynn for about a year as an associate broker at the firm's Westminster office.

He is president-elect of the Carroll County Association of Realtors and secretary-treasurer of Mid-Atlantic Real Estate Information Technology.

A Navy veteran and a graduate of Western Maryland College, he lives in Westminster with his wife, Janet, and their six children. Carroll County Chamber of Commerce will have a general membership luncheon at noon April 13 at Martin's Westminster.

Steve Powell, director of the county's Department of Management and Budget, will speak.

The cost is $13.

Hampstead man named president of bank

James R. Bosley Jr. of Hampstead has been named president of Farmers & Merchants Bank.

He is the fourth person to serve in that position in the bank's 76 years.

Mr. Bosley has been executive vice president at the bank since 1986. He is a graduate of Towson State University, and a member of the Rotary Club of Hampstead and Change Inc.

The bank also announced that former president Paul F. Wooden will serve as chairman of the board and T. Edward Lippy will become vice chairman of the board. Black & Decker Corp. of Hampstead recently donated power tools to

Carroll County Career and Technology Center.

The tools will be used to improve instruction in the collision repair, carpentry, electrical instruction and machine technology programs.

The company also donated a safety video on the proper use of power tools.
