Players and owners finally agreed on something yesterday, finalizing back-to-work rules for this season:


* Rosters to be expanded to 28 players until May 15.

* Pitchers will be eligible for a win after pitching three innings -- rather than the usual five -- until May 9.

* Free-agent team based in Homestead, Fla., will be allowed to participate in exhibition games.

* Players' pay will be prorated to reflect loss of 18 games, or 11 percent of their 1995 pay. Players yet to sign will be paid on a basis of 144 games and 162 days of service.


* Tomorrow -- Voluntary reporting date for all players.

* Friday -- Mandatory reporting date for all players except non-U.S. citizens awaiting work visas.

* Friday -- Last day for teams to offer 1995 contracts to unsigned players.

* Friday -- Last day for teams to offer salary arbitration to their former players who became free agents.

* April 12-14 -- Salary arbitration filing period.

* April 12-21 -- Period for teams to unilaterally renew the contracts of unsigned players. Players eligible for salary arbitration may not be renewed before April 15.

* April 13 -- Exhibition games begin.

* April 15 -- Last day for free agents offered salary arbitration to accept or reject the offers.

* April 15 -- Last day to place a player on unconditional release waivers and pay 30 days' termination pay instead of 45 days'.

* April 15 -- First day players may be optioned to minor-league teams.

* April 23 -- Last day to request unconditional release waivers on a player without having to pay his full 1995 salary.

* April 26 -- Opening Day; active rosters must be reduced to 28 players.

* April 28 -- Exchange of salary arbitration figures.

* May 15 -- Active rosters must be reduced to 25 players.

* May TBA -- Salary arbitration hearings held.
