POLICE

* Westminster: A resident of South Center Street reported that someone known to her stole her gold necklace from her house on Sunday. She told police the man refused to return the necklace when she contacted him by telephone. She estimated the value of the necklace at $220.

A Bond Street resident told police that someone knocked a trash can into his auto on Friday, causing an estimated $250 damage.

A patron at Champ's Restaurant, in the first block of W. Main St., reported that someone stole her purse Friday. She estimated the theft at $40.

FIRE

* Westminster: Westminster and Reese responded to investigate the report of a fire alarm sounding at the Locust House on Locust Street at 2:46 p.m. Monday. The alarm was accidental and was canceled after four minutes.

Westminster responded to a van fire in the 200 block of Baltimore Boulevard at 11:04 a.m. Monday. Units were out for 28 minutes.

Westminster firefighters responded to a trash container fire in the 800 block of Uniontown Road at 9:29 p.m. Sunday. They were out for 30 minutes.

Firefighters from the Westminster, Reese and Union Bridge stations were dispatched to a basement fire in the 200 block of Bertie Ave. at 2:02 p.m. Sunday. Units were out for 43 minutes.

Westminster and New Windsor firefighters responded to a chimney fire in the 400 block of Spalding Court at 9:32 p.m. Saturday. Units were out for 29 minutes.

Westminster and New Windsor firefighters responded to a house fire in the 1100 block of Long Valley Road at 8:24 p.m. Saturday. Units were out for 31 minutes.
