American Hockey Coaches Association -- Named Maine's Shawn Walsh University Division Coach of the Year.

College Football Hall of Fame -- Named Francis "Bernie" Kish, a University of Kansas sports administrator, director of the new $14 million museum, which opens in August in South Bend, Ind.

Hobey Baker Award -- Given to Bowling Green senior C Brian Holzinger as the top college hockey player in the country; he was a sixth-round draft choice of the Sabres in 1991.

Brigham Young -- Announced the retirement of women's athletic director Lu Wallace.

Navy -- Named Ken Niumatalolo running backs coach.

Tusculum -- Announced the resignation of Angelo Botta, women's basketball coach.

Wisconsin -- Named Dick Bennett men's basketball coach.

Football

Arizona Cardinals -- Signed 1994 Pro Bowl G Duval Love, who spent seven seasons with the Los Angeles Rams and the past three with the Pittsburgh Steelers

Detroit Lions -- Re-signed unrestricted free-agent LB Mike Johnson, a two-time Pro Bowl player who had 135 tackles, including 93 solo, last season.

Kansas City Chiefs -- Signed unrestricted free-agent CB James Hasty, who had been with the New York Jets, to a four-year contract. Signed unrestricted free-agent S Brian Washington, who had been released by the Jets, to a five-year contract.

Miami Dolphins -- Re-signed RB Bernie Parmalee (216 carries for 868 yards) to a two-year contract.

New York Jets -- Agreed to terms with DL Matt Brock.

Pittsburgh Steelers -- Signed WR Johnnie Barnes.

San Francisco 49ers -- Signed DE Troy Wilson to a one-year contract.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats (CFL) -- Signed DL Toby Bailey, DL Steve Grant, LB Greg Patrick and LB Shawn Prendergast.
