Ex-Noxell chief becomes CEO of Sheridan Group

A former president of Noxell Inc. has accepted a job as president and chief executive of the Sheridan Group Inc., a Hanover, Pa., printing company that owns Sheridan Electronic Systems Inc. of Baltimore.

John A. Saxton, president of Noxell from 1990 to 1994, has most recently been a vice president of Noxell's parent company, Procter & Gamble Co. He began his career at Procter & Gamble in 1971 after graduating from college. The Noxell unit is based in Hunt Valley.

Mr. Saxton has been a director of the Sheridan Group since 1991. He succeeds R. Champlin Sheridan as chief executive effective today. Mr. Sheridan will remain chairman.

Sheridan Group began in 1915 as Everybodys Press, best known for printing and publishing Everybodys Poultry magazine.
