Man with box cutter takes cash from High's store register

March 31, 1995

A man armed with a box cutter robbed a Glen Burnie High's store Wednesday evening, county police said.

The man walked into the store in the 7600 block of Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd. about 7:15 p.m. and put a box of Twizzlers and 75 cents on the counter as if to make a purchase. Then he pulled out the box cutter and ordered the clerk to open the cash register, police said.

When the clerk told the man she couldn't open the register, he leaped on the counter, opened the register and took an undisclosed amount of money. He ran from the store and escaped, police said.

The robber was described as a white male 20 to 30 years old, 5 feet 1 inch to 5 feet 2 inches tall with a medium build, dark, curly hair, a pockmarked face, brown eyes and a mustache. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a hooded sweat shirt with a zipper in front, police said.
