American Properties real estate agency moving

American Properties, a Howard County-based real estate agency, will move next month to the Amdahl Building, 10420 Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia.

Orion Homes I Corp., a subsidiary of Laurel-based Orion Construction, recently increased its ownership in American Properties by acquiring the remaining shares held by Don Reuwer, founder and chief executive of American Properties.

Paul Duncan, president of American Properties, and DeKermu Nushann, senior vice president at American Properties and Orion Construction, made the announcement.

The new space will accommodate American Properties' agents and its New Home Marketing Group and corporate services.

Mr. Reuwer will concentrate his interests in Land Design & Development, a Columbia acquisition and development company he also founded.

Women attorneys to meet Tuesday at 6

Howard County Women's Bar Association will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Coho Grill, 11130 Willow Bottom Drive at Hobbits Glen Golf Course in Columbia.

The guest speakers are Ann S. Harrington, Martha F. Rasin and Lenore R. Gelfman.

The cost is $15.

Careerscope schedules orientation sessions

Careerscope in Columbia will offer free orientation to its services.

The sessions are scheduled for 10 a.m. April 4 and 19, and 6:30 p.m. April 13 and 25.

Careerscope offers such services as career and life planning, job search and career choice.

The Business Women's Network will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 19 at historic Oakland in Columbia.

The scheduled topic is "PR on a Shoestring." Linda Kline, director of the American Red Cross' Holocaust Tracing Center, will speak.

Business exchange to hold mixer April 6

The Columbia Business Exchange will hold its next mixer from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. April 6.

It will be held at China Chefs, 10801 Hickory Ridge Road in Columbia.
