Man injured in accident on Route 94

Howard County police say a 37-year-old Rockville man had been drinking when he crashed his vehicle into a utility pole on Route 94 in Lisbon Monday night.

Michael Preston Bucheimer, of the 17000 block of Ridge Drive, was released from the Maryland Shock Trauma Center yesterday morning.

According to police, he was driving his 1987 Jeep Cherokee south on Route 94, just north of A.E. Mullinix Road, when the vehicle veered off the road about 9 p.m.

The vehicle snapped a utility pole, rammed a chain link fence and overturned. It came to a stop in the southbound lane of Route 94, said Pfc. Paul Yodzis, of the Traffic Enforcement Section.

Emergency workers flew Mr. Bucheimer in a state police MedEvac helicopter to the downtown Baltimore trauma center, police said.
