No. Massachusetts (28-4) vs. No. 6 Tulsa (24-&) NCAA TOURNAMENT

March 24, 1995

What: NCAA East Regional semifinal

Where: Byrne Meadowlands Arena, East Rutherford, N.J.

When: 30 minutes after completion of 7:40 game

TV: None

Outlook: In four years, coach Tubby Smith (79-42) has guided Tulsa to two Missouri Valley Conference regular-season titles and two straight appearances in the Sweet 16. He also landed guard Shea Seals, a 6-5 sophomore who is the key to Tulsa's chances tonight. Seals has scored 53 points in two tournament games, and gets plenty of help from guard Pooh Williamson (13.0 ppg) and a deep, bulky front line. Tulsa will have to overcome the deeper, more athletic Minutemen, who have won 10 of their past 11 games, including their fourth straight Atlantic 10 title. Senior forward Lou Roe (17.0 ppg, 8.1 rpg) and sophomore center Marcus Camby (14.0 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 3.6 bpg) set the tone inside, while Derek Kellogg does a fine job distributing the ball to forwards Dana Dingle (7.0 ppg) and Donta Bright (9.5 ppg) and guard Edgar Padilla (7.3 ppg). The Minutemen also have played great defense for the past month.
