Reward offered for information in teen-ager's killing in Crofton

March 24, 1995

A $2,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the killer of Catherine Elizabeth Webster, who was shot outside a Crofton pool hall earlier this week.

The 16-year-old Bowie girl and two friends drove to Crofton Billiards Monday night, but it was closed.

As they were getting ready to drive away, they were approached by a man who ordered them out of their 1988 Nissan 300ZX, police said.

When the man began to pull a handgun from his waistband, the driver sped off. The gunman fired several times, striking the driver and Miss Webster.

Miss Webster was taken to Prince George's Hospital Center, where she died Tuesday morning of a massive head injury. The driver was treated and released.

Anyone with information about the slaying should contact Anne Arundel County police Detective Dean D'Camera at 222-3461.
