County police arrested two men in the Marley Station parking lot Sunday afternoon and charged them with possession of two handguns, a police report said.

Northern District Officer Peter Scarpetta noticed a 1987 Chevrolet S-10 truck driving between parked cars shortly after 4 p.m. The truck had faded temporary tags with no expiration date punched, and the man in the passenger seat of the truck had a half-full bottle of beer, the report said.

Officer Scarpetta ordered both men out of the truck while he conducted a search. He found a .380-caliber semi-automatic handgun with one round in the chamber and a Ruger .357 revolver, police said.

William Albert Hussey Jr., 25, of the first block of Fairview Street in Laurel and Donald Wayne Conner III, 18, of the 7800 block of Chalice Road in Severn each were charged with possession of a handgun, police said.

Sears shoplifting suspect arrested

A Baltimore man was arrested Monday morning as a suspect in the shoplifting of a $200 tool set from the Glen Burnie Sears store, county police said.

Larry Rogers, 19, a security officer at the store in the 6600 block of Ritchie Highway, saw a man take a tool set from a display shortly after 10 a.m. and leave without paying for it.

Mr. Rogers followed the man to the parking lot and saw him get into a brown truck. The truck pulled away, but after a short distance the passenger got out, gave the tools to Mr. Rogers and ran, police said.

Mr. Rogers flagged down Officer Charles Benner, and the two men searched until they found the suspect walking in the 6700 block of Ritchie Highway, the police report said.

Michael F. Liberto, 42, of the 3300 block of Wilkins Ave., was charged with misdemeanor theft, police said.
