Work on MARC parking expansion to begin today

March 21, 1995

Work is to begin today on a $4.7 million project to double the number of parking spaces at the Odenton MARC station, said Mass Transit Administration spokesman Anthony Brown.

The 600-space lot fills to capacity daily and is reaching a point where it no longer can handle the 1,100 passengers that board from the Odenton station, Mr. Brown said.

The project, paid for mostly with federal funds, will add 800 spaces to the lot on the west side of the station.

The work is expected to be completed by August 1996.
