Capitals Tonight

March 20, 1995

Opponent: Hartford Whalers

Site: Hartford Civic Center

Time: 7

TV/Radio: None/WMAL (630 AM)

Outlook: The Capitals (10-11-6) opened the season here and, after a well-played game, left with a disappointing 1-1 tie. It took Washington awhile to right itself after that, but the Capitals are 7-1-1 in their last nine games. Their starting goalie, rookie Jim Carey (1.64 goals-against average), has been in net for each of the games and will be again tonight. Washington will be without C Kevin Kaminski, who is serving a three-game suspension for abusing an official during Saturday night's 4-1 win over the New York Rangers. His absence is pushing the recovery of C Dave Poulin (strained groin muscle), who was supposed to be out of this game, but made the trip and was to be re-evaluated this morning. Hartford (10-13-4) reports no injuries.
