Florida Marlins -- Signed IF Darryl Vice. Sent OF John Massarelli, P Joel Adamson, IF Vince Castaldo and IF Tim Clark to minor-league camp after they declined to play in replacement regular-season games. Sent C James Wolff to minor-league camp.

Los Angeles Dodgers -- Signed 1B Brian Traxler to a contract with Triple-A Albuquerque. Added P George Tsamis and P Daniel Camacho to the replacement exhibition roster.

Basketball NBA Players Association -- Filed a grievance against the New York Knicks for suspending F Anthony Mason for five games for conduct detrimental to the team and violating team rules.

Denver Nuggets -- Signed F Mark Randall for the remainder of the season.

Golden State Warriors -- Signed G Tim Legler to a second 10-day contract. Announced that doctors repaired a ligament in the left wrist of G Tim Hardaway, who will be out for the remainder of the season.

New York Knicks -- Activated F Charles Smith from the injured list.

Seattle Seahawks -- Signed QB John Friesz to a two-year contract.
