Loyola overpowers Fairfield, 16-3

Freshmen Todd Vizcarrondo and Chris Georgalas each scored three goals to lead No. 5 Loyola to a 16-3 rout of Fairfield in men's lacrosse yesterday at Curley Field. Ten Greyhounds scored as Loyola outshot the Stags, 45-14.

Freshman attackman Tim O'Shea and senior midfielder Tom Welsch added two goals and one assist apiece for Loyola (4-0). The Greyhounds, who ran out to an 11-0 first-quarter lead, held Fairfield (0-2) scoreless until 9:45 left in the game.
