State police were still at the scene last night investigating the fatal shooting of a 47-year-old Finksburg man after his body was found in a garage in the rear of his home.

Officers were called to a house in the 3000 block of Old Gamber Road about 4:50 p.m. Police, fire and rescue equipment was dispatched to the dwelling near Finksburg Shopping Center and found the victim in the garage.

A boy, about 6 years old, who was playing on the front lawn of the house was taken from the area by family friends, police said.

Police had not released additional details of the shooting last night and would not say if a weapon was found near the body.
