March 17, 1995

A man who said he had a gun robbed the Glen Burnie Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant Wednesday night and escaped with an undisclosed amount of money, county police said.

The man walked into the restaurant, in the 6700 block of Ritchie Highway, around 9 p.m. and ordered some food. After paying, he handed the manager a note that said, "I have a gun in my pocket. You are being robbed. Don't do anything foolish."

He ordered the manager to give him money from cash registers at the counter and drive-through windows, then fled, police said.

The robber never showed a weapon. He was described as a black male in his early 30s, 5 feet 9 to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build and wearing a brown leather jacket, dark pants, a red-and-white winter cap and white gloves.
