Mall events include shows, grand opening

Carrolltown Center has planned events for this week.

The Lioness Club will sell daffodils for the American Cancer Society during mall hours Thursday.

The new Fun Quarters will have a grand opening from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday with WPOC-FM radio disc jockey Laurie DeYoung and other entertainers for children.

All WPOC country card members are invited to run their cards through the WPOC card reader, which qualifies participants for a WPOC give-away and two free game tokens from Fun Quarters.

Ms. DeYoung also will present a story time at 1 p.m. for children under 4 years old.

Talent shows sponsored by Talent Express will be presented at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday in center court. Participants will demonstrate their talent in singing, jazz, tap and ballet.

FIRE

* Eldersburg: Sykesville and Winfield firefighters responded to a report of a fire alarm sounding in a building in the 900 block of Johnsville Road at 1:54 a.m. Sunday. Units were out for 33 minutes.
