ROBBERY TRY/OFFICER HURT: Northern District -- Officer Paul Coursey was injured Saturday when he tried to arrest an armed robber in the 4000 block of Old York Road. When a woman broke away from a gunman who had demanded her money, she flagged down the officer. He spotted the man getting into a car and grabbed the vehicle, but he lost his grip and the car sped off. Officer Coursey was treated at Good Samaritan Hospital for chest pains. Police were seeking a gray Thunderbird or Mercury Cougar with tags that begin with XRG.

PURSE SNATCHING: Northern District -- A 37-year-old resident of the 1000 block of E. Northern Parkway was in the 500 block of Willow Ave. yesterday when a man stole her purse containing cash and property, all valued at $40.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone entered a house in the 1000 block of Witherspoon Road through a door yesterday and stole a washer, dryer, ironing board and telephone, all valued at more than $800.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 3300 block of Prestman St. was in the 3400 block of W. Caton Ave. yesterday when two men beat him with their fists and robbed him of $20.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 900 block of W. Lafayette Ave. was at North Fulton Avenue and Vine Street yesterday when she was assaulted by two men who stole clothing valued at $70.

BURGLARY/ARREST: Western District -- Police responding to a burglary at a carryout in the 1500 block of N. Monroe St. arrested a 13-year-old boy before he could escape with soft drinks, meat products and other items, all valued at $20. Following charges, the youth was released into the custody of his parents.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Someone entered a room at the Town House Motor Hotel in the 5800 block of Reisterstown Road and stole property valued at more than $200.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Two men, one with a handgun, robbed the A & F car wash in the 3000 block of Liberty Heights Ave. of an undisclosed sum of money yesterday.

Baltimore County

BURGLARY: Essex Precinct -- Someone entered a house in the first block of Harrison Ave. over the weekend and stole a 1994 Honda motorcycle and a VCR.

ROBBERY: Garrison Precinct -- A resident of the 4200 block of Lowell Drive was about to enter her home yesterday when a man stole her purse containing a small sum of money.

STOLEN CAR: Garrison Precinct -- One day after its owner purchased it, a red 1994 Dodge Shadow with unknown temporary tags was stolen yesterday from the 4200 block of Pinefield Court.

THEFT FROM AUTO: North Point Precinct -- An amplifier and speakers were stolen over the weekend from a 1973 Volkswagen parked in the 8200 block of Kavanagh Road.

STOLEN CAR: North Point Precinct -- Police were seeking a 1991 Ranger Explorer with tags AAY 77P that was stolen yesterday

from the 1900 block of Delvale Ave.
