SHOOTING: Southern District -- An unidentified man was listed in serious condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being shot in the back in the 1300 block of Pontiac Ave. in Brooklyn Wednesday night. The man was found lying in the street by officers responding to a report of a shooting. No arrest had been made.

PURSE SNATCHING: Northern District -- A resident of the 700 block of E. 37th St. was walking in the 800 block of Dumbarton Road Wednesday when a man stole her purse containing cash and property, all valued at$40.

STOLEN CAR: Northern District -- A 1992 Nissan Stanza with tags YEG 511 was stolen Wednesday from the 4800 block of Wrenwood Ave.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone entered a house in the 800 block of E. Cold Spring Lane Wednesday after breaking a front basement window and stole two VCRs valued at more than $400.

ROBBERY TRY: Northeastern District -- Two students at Lake Clifton-Eastern High School in the 2800 block of St. Lo Drive were walking near the school Wednesday when four teen-age boys, one with a handgun, demanded their money. The two students fled the scene.

CARJACKING: Northwestern District -- After giving three men a ride from East Baltimore, a resident of the 2200 block of Etting St. was driving in the 3800 block of Barrington Road Wednesday night when the men placed a gun to his head and ordered him to stop. The driver did and the men forced him from his 1983 Dodge, which they stole. The car, with tags BZJ 791, had not been recovered.

SCHOOL BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Someone entered Pimlico Middle School in the 3800 block of W. Northern Parkway through a gymnasium window Wednesday and stole a computer, computer printer and a 27-inch TV.

Baltimore County

BURGLARY: Parkville Precinct -- Someone entered an apartment in the first block of Shellmar Court Wednesday and stole a roll of quarters.

ROBBERY: Towson Precinct -- A man who implied he was armed robbed Formal Affairs in the 500 block of York Road of an undisclosed sum of money Wednesday.

ROBBERY: Garrison Precinct -- Two men, one with a handgun, robbed McDonald's restaurant in the 500 block of Reisterstown Road Wednesday of an undisclosed sum of money.
