Eight tires are stolen from truck

Thieves stole eight tires over the weekend from a tractor-trailer owned by Weyerhaeuser Paper Co., county police said.

The theft occurred between 5:30 a.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Monday. The thieves used wire cutters to make a hole in a fence near the front gate of a company parking lot in the 7200 block of Park Circle Drive.

Wooden blocks were used to jack up the 1993 Mack tractor-trailer, police said. The stolen tires were worth $300 apiece, police said.


* Harmans: Someone stole 3,090 feet of insulated copper wire worth $4,208 from a construction site at Route 100 and Ridge Road. The theft occurred between 4 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Monday.
