25 Years Ago (Week of Feb. 22-28, 1970)

* The Rouse Company and General Electric were asked by the Maryland Department of Water Resources to submit plans showing intention to comply with state sediment control

regulations. The request was prompted by the concern that Columbia area construction posed a potential threat to the water supply at Fort Meade as well as several state facilities in the

Jessup area.

50 Years Ago (Week of Feb. 25-March 3, 1945):

* The Fulton Homemakers Club met at the home of Mrs. Ellsworth Iager. The clothing chairman announced that garments made from old clothing and feed sacks should be sewn and loaned out to be displayed at other clubs. In addition, Mrs. Lee Hall presented the first in a series of peace lessons.
