Denver Nuggets -- Placed G Robert Pack on the injured list with a left knee injury. Signed G Eldridge Recasner to a 10-day contract.

Houston Rockets -- Activated C Zan Tabak from the injured list.

Los Angeles Lakers -- Signed G-F Lloyd Daniels to a second 10-day contract.

Minnesota Timberwolves -- Placed F Pat Durham on the injured list with a sprained right ankle. Activated F Andres Guibert from the injured list.

Washington Bullets -- Activated C Kevin Duckworth from the suspended list.

College

NCAA -- Denied an appeal by Coastal Carolina to lessen the four-year ban on postseason play for violations by the men's basketball program.

Duke -- Announced that sophomore F Greg Newton has been declared academically ineligible for the remainder of the season.

Nevada-Las Vegas -- Announced the resignation of men's basketball coach Tim Grgurich.

Football

Chicago Bears -- Agreed to terms with three-time Pro Bowl S Mark Carrier, a transition player. Agreed to terms with unrestricted free-agent DB Marty Carter, who was with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, on a deal worth $5.2 million over four years.

Dallas Cowboys -- Signed free-agent TE John Davis, a member (( of their practice squad last season, to a two-year contract.

Denver Broncos -- Named Frank Bush linebacker coach and Barney Chavous offensive line and assistant strength and conditioning coach.

Houston Oilers -- Agreed to terms with KR Mel Gray on a two-year contract.

Jacksonville Jaguars -- Agreed to terms with unrestricted free-agent CB Vinnie Clark, who had been with the New Orleans Saints.

Los Angeles Raiders -- Re-signed RB Harvey Williams to an incentive-laden one-year deal worth less than $600,000 in salary and signing bonus combined.

New England Patriots -- Signed RB David Meggett (Towson State) to a five-year contract. Agreed to terms with unrestricted free-agent C-G-T Jeff Dellenbach, who had been with the Miami Dolphins, on a deal for $7 million over four years.

New York Jets -- Released C Jim Sweeney.

Baltimore (CFL) -- Signed slotback Jerry Ursin (Tulane) and WR Cedric Tillman (Northern Colorado).

Toronto Argonauts (CFL) -- Acquired the rights to QB Robert Daugherty from Baltimore in exchange for an undisclosed negotiation-list player.

PGA -- Named Peter Jacobsen Player of the Month.

NHL -- Announced that it had voided the Feb. 28 trade of D David Karpa from the Quebec Nordiques to the Los Angeles Kings because Karpa failed a team physical.

New York Islanders -- Acquired D Brent Severyn from the Florida Panthers for a fourth-round draft pick. Returned D Paul Stanton to IHL Denver.

Pittsburgh Penguins -- Recalled D Greg Andrusak from IHL Detroit.

Quebec Nordiques -- Returned D Janne Laukkanen to AHL Cornwall.

San Jose Sharks -- Traded LW Johan Garpenlov to the Panthers for a fifth-round draft pick and future considerations.

Tampa Bay Lightning -- Recalled LW Brantt Myhres from IHL Atlanta.

Toronto Maple Leafs -- Recalled LW Ken Belanger from AHL St. John's. Assigned LW Todd Warriner to St. John's.

Winnipeg Jets -- Recalled G John Leblanc, C Luciano Borsato, LW Ravil Gusmanov and D Oleg Mikulchik from AHL Springfield. Sent RW Mark Deazeley and LW Michal Grosek to Springfield.
