POLICE

* Westminster: An official of Moser Construction Co. of Arendtsville, Pa., reported to city police that someone stole aluminum siding installation equipment from a house under construction on Medinah Circle on Wednesday. The equipment was valued at $4,400.

An official of Western Maryland College told city police someone stole an electronic balance scale used for measuring minute weights from a room in Lewis Hall on Wednesday. A lock and chain used to secure the instrument also was stolen. The value of the scale was estimated at $560.

A resident of New Windsor reported to city police that someone stole a hubcap from his truck while it was parked at Cranberry Mall on Wednesday. He estimated its value at $32.

A resident of Spalding Court reported to city police that someone broke into his house and stole a .45-caliber pistol Tuesday. He said the gun was valued at $250.

FIRE

* Westminster: Westminster and Reese responded to an oil spill on East George Street at 6:08 p.m. Wednesday. Units were out for two hours.
