Ray Mason retires from McCrone Inc.

Edgewater resident Ray Mason has retired from McCrone Inc. after more than 42 years with the Annapolis-based civil engineering company.

Mr. Mason will continue to be active with McCrone Inc. as a consultant.

Prendergast joins ad, marketing firm

Marlene Prendergast has joined the Annapolis advertising and marketing firm Cyphers, Wood, Weinberg & Lambird as vice president of public relations.

Mrs. Prendergast has more than 15 years experience in public relations and marketing.

She is a member of the board of directors of the Greater Annapolis Chamber of Commerce and is involved with several volunteer activities in the Annapolis area. She is a member of the boards of directors of Maryland Hall and the Providence Center and is active in fund raising for the Anne Arundel Medical Center Foundation's Special Breast Cancer Fund.

Steward passes accounting exam

Cheryl Steward, CPA, president of C.L. Stewart & Co., has passed the Certified Financial Planning Board examination.

Ms. Steward received her accounting degree from the University of Maryland in 1983. She founded C.L. Stewart & Co. in West Annapolis in 1987 and studied at the College of Financial Planning in Denver in 1994.

She volunteers as an audit reviewer for the United Way of Central Maryland; is a member of the Anne Arundel Trade Council and the Annapolis Chamber of Commerce; and teaches bookkeeping and accounting at Anne Arundel Community College.
