Westminster Fire Engine and Hose Company No. 1 recently installed new officers for 1995 and presented a number of awards at its annual banquet.
Mike Garber was awarded Firefighter of the Year for the number of calls he responded to and for his work with fund-raisers and other activities.
The Maryland State Police and State Fire Marshal presented plaques to the company for its work in the community.
The ladies auxiliary gave the company $2,000 for fire suppression and $5,000 for other needs.
Length of Service awards went to Gene Bauerline, Charles Simpson, Rick Markline, Mike Garber and Mike Stoner.
Other service awards went to: Bill Sauble, 40 years; David Babylon, 45 years; Norman Ogg, 50 years; Herb Corbin and Richard Gehr, 55 years.
