Man robs bank, escapes through snow on bike

February 07, 1995

State police are looking for a bike-riding bank robber who held up the NationsBank branch at Carrolltown Mall in Eldersburg Saturday morning and got away on a maroon racing bike.

"This is the first time we've had a bank robber in the snow on a bike," said Tfc. William Corun, a member of the state police investigation division.

The trooper reported that the robber gave notes to two tellers demanding that they put money in a gray bag, left the bank, got on his bike and rode across the parking lot. He got away with an undetermined amount of cash.

Trooper Corun described the robber as a white man about 30 years old, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt and did not display a weapon, police said.
