Bowie gets past St. Paul's STATE MEN

Steve Marvin hit two free throws with 37 seconds left, breaking a 64-64 tie and lifting Bowie State to a 68-64 victory over visiting St. Paul's College in a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association game last night.

Marquis Melton and David Burgin each scored 14 points for Bowie State.

* Frostburg State 92, Villa Julie 58: Scott Newman scored 18 points and had seven rebounds, leading Frostburg (13-5) past visiting Villa Julie (1-13) in a nonconference game.

* Case Western Reserve 60, Johns Hopkins 55: Matt Mittiga scored 17 points and Rob Novosel added 11, leading host Case Western Reserve (8-10, 4-4) past Johns Hopkins (3-15, 0-8) in a United Athletic Association game.

* York 82, Goucher 62: Dan Johnson led a second-half rally as host York (12-5, 8-1) defeated visiting Goucher (11-7, 5-3) in a Capital Athletic Conference game.

York broke a 27-27 halftime tie with a 19-3 run. David Clark (Catonsville) led Goucher with 18.

* Frederick CC 96, Catholic JV 69: Brian McMahon scored 17 and Billy Gottholm added 15, leading host Frederick (10-11) past Catholic JV. Mark Fredeli led Catholic with 20 points.
