2 in holdup may be wanted by police in other robberies

January 29, 1995|By From Staff Reports

Howard County police say two armed and masked men they are seeking in the holdup of a Columbia gas station Thursday night may be the same men sought in eight similar robberies in the county since early December.

According to police, two men entered the minishop at the Exxon gas station at the Columbia Restaurant Park in the 8300 block of Benson Drive in Columbia's Long Reach village and demanded money from the clerk at 8:40 p.m.

The men grabbed cash from both the register and Lotto drawer, then fled to the rear of the station, police said.

The descriptions of the men are similar to those given by victims of robberies of at least eight gas stations, convenience stores, motels and fast-food restaurants in December and January, according to police reports.
