Goretti overtakes St. Frances, 77-61

Boo Lane scored 11 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter as St. Maria Goretti outscored host St. Frances 34-13 to erase a five-point deficit after three quarters and post a 77-61 win over the Panthers last night at the University of Baltimore.

Mark Karcher paced St. Frances (16-3, 6-1) with 17. John Piccolomini added 19 for Goretti (15-8, 4-4).

* Edgewood 70, Aberdeen 59: Chris Finlay scored 26 as host Edgewood (7-7) upset Aberdeen (10-4). Charlie Burkhardt and Mike Baldwin each had 11 for the Rams.

James Smith led Aberdeen with 14 and Jimmy Greene had 13.

* Walbrook 97, Edmondson 71: Travone Broadway scored 34 and Anton Jenifer added 25 for host and No. 4 Walbrook (11-3).

* Broadneck 68, North County 58: Jason Smith scored 19 points to lead visiting and No. 7 Broadneck (13-1).

* Randallstown 100, Kenwood 67: Ahmed Collins scored 21 as host and No. 9 Randallstown (14-1) defeated Kenwood (4-8).

* Milford Mill 82, Owings Mills 45: Blanchard Hurd scored 22 and Keon Sellman added 18 points as host and No. 12 Milford Mill (12-2) won.

* Atholton 73, Howard 57: Brian Benden scored 20 points to lead visiting and No. 14 Atholton (13-1).

* Severn 58, Arlington Baptist 46: Javual Mack had eight points, nine rebounds and nine steals as No. 15 Severn (14-6) topped visiting Arlington Baptist (16-3). Dennard Melton scored 15 for the Admirals.

* St. Paul's 72, Friends 49: Chris Kakel scored 15 and grabbed 14 rebounds for host and No. 20 St. Paul's (13-2).

* Overlea 65, Loch Raven 47: Rob Cousins scored 20 points and Troy Williams added 18 for visiting Overlea (11-1). Andrew Kyle scored 25 for Loch Raven (8-5).

* Dundalk 76, Eastern Tech 65: Danny Thorpe had 13 points, 21 rebounds and eight blocks for Dundalk (13-2). Sammy Plater led Eastern Tech with 18.

* Douglass 80, Forest Park 61: Lamar Prilliman scored 20 and Michael Miller added 19 for host Douglass (8-3).

* South River 67, Meade 62, OT: Corey Davis scored 18 to lead South River (10-3) past host Meade (4-10).

* Woodlawn 100, Patapsco 56: Kevin Parsons had 17 as visiting Woodlawn (10-3) won.

* Sparrows Point 76, Carver A&T 41: Griffin Dingle had 20 points and 10 rebounds and Carnell Damon added 18 points and five rebounds for host Sparrows Point (9-5).

* Boys' Latin 69, St. Mary's 67: Wes Lovell scored 22 for host Boys' Latin (11-8). St. Mary's Danny Marhol had 34, including seven of his team's nine three pointers and 18 of the Saints' 19 fourth-quarter points.

* Glenelg 77, Centennial 63: Earl Frazier scored 22 and Jeff Cline had nine steals to lead host Glenelg (8-6).

* Franklin 74, Lansdowne 59: Nick Hines scored 20 to lead host Franklin (7-5).

* Dulaney 75, Parkville 38: Jon Snyder scored 36 for visiting Dulaney.

* Loyola 65, Towson Catholic 51: Jared Clelan scored 15 and Matt Neumayer and Jason Vogtman each had 13 to lead host Loyola (12-7).

* Poly 86, Northwestern 50: John McLean scored 24 and Martin Prosper had 20 for host Poly (9-7).

* Mount St. Joseph 59, McDonogh 51: Dan Whye scored 20 to lead visiting Mount St. Joseph (9-8).

* Curley 79, Mount Carmel 49: Mike Palmere and Jason Karolkowski each scored 18 in Curley's win over visiting Mount Carmel.

* Bel Air 60, Fallston 59: Jeff Ungham scored 15 to lead Bel Air over host Fallston. Kernan Kelly scored 30 for Fallston.

* Joppatowne 50, Havre de Grace 48: Nick Webber scored 15 as host Joppatowne (6-8) won.

* Pikesville 64, Chesapeake-BC 46: Sam Altman scored 29 to lead visiting Pikesville.

* Wilde Lake 56, Hammond 54, OT: Jeremy Young sank two free throws with 19 seconds left to put Wilde Lake ahead for good at 55-54 as host Wilde Lake (6-7) won in overtime.

* Hereford 62, Western Tech 45: David Glenn scored 21 to pace visiting Herford (6-7).

* Catonsville 71, Towson 64: Herman Cooper scored 20 points to pace Catonsville (6-8) over visiting Towson (7-5). Trey Littlejohn added 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Comets.

* North Harford 64, Harford Tech 60: Brock Jourdan scored 19 and Ryan Renfrow had 18 to lead the visiting Hawks.

* John Carroll 82, Park 71: Jared Marmen scored 27 and had 19 rebounds and Bryan Barrett had 17 points and 11 rebounds for the host Patriots (8-9).

* Chesapeake-AA 69, Northeast 54: Jared Vogt scored 23 to pace host Chesapeake-AA (2-11) past Northeast (3-10).

* Glenelg Country School 78, Key School 47: Bernie Dennison scored 35 to lead visiting Glenelg Country School (11-2).

* Carroll Christian 77, Calvary Christian 61: Brian Mitchell scored 20 for host Carroll Christian (10-4).
