Detroit Tigers -- Announced that tickets will be half-price for any games played by replacement players and that bleacher seats will be $2.50 all season.

Houston Astros -- Cut the price of tickets to spring training games by $2.

New York Mets -- Named Lee May Jr. and Greg Tubbs scouts.

Toronto Blue Jays -- Purchased the contract of OF Pat Woodruff from Tyler of the independent Texas-Louisiana League. Bought the contract of OF Ron Reams from the Corpus Christi of the Texas-Louisiana League.

Denver Zephyrs (Triple-A) -- Announced the sale of the team to a group of New Orleans investors.

Basketball

NBA -- Named Judson W. Perkins president of NBA Attractions and Events.

Dallas Mavericks -- Placed F-C Roy Tarpley (tendinitis in his right knee) on the injured list.

Frederick Flyers (Atlantic Basketball Association) -- Signed F

Myron Devoe.

Colleges

Kansas -- F-G Paul Pierce of Inglewood (Calif.) High, considered one of the top 10 high school basketball players in the country, committed orally.

St. Mary's -- Named Lew Jenkins baseball coach.

South Alabama -- Suspended junior basketball G Miquill Jones for the rest of the season after he admitted taking $190 from a fast-food restaurant cash register after a game.

Football

NFL -- Named Bill Walsh consultant on football matters.

Carolina Panthers -- Signed a lease with Clemson for use of 81,473-seat Memorial Stadium during the 1995 NFL season.

Houston Oilers -- Named Russ Purnell special teams coach.

New England Patriots -- Announced that running backs coach Mike Pope will become tight ends coach, special assistant Dante Scarnecchia will work full time with the defense and linebackers, offensive assistant Maurice Carthon will work with fullbacks and special teams and tight ends coach Charlie Weis will become running backs coach.

Seattle Seahawks -- Retained defensive coach Dave Brown. Named Greg McMackin, a former Navy assistant, defensive

coordinator.

Detroit Red Wings -- Sent G Bob Essensa on loan to IHL San Diego. Announced that C Mike Sillinger, who missed the first four games with a hemorrhage in his right eye, has been cleared to play.

Hartford Whalers -- Reassigned D Marek Malik to AHL Springfield.

Los Angeles Kings -- Recalled RW Kevin Brown from IHL Phoenix.

Montreal Canadiens -- Announced that backup G Ron Tugnutt (strained left knee) is expected to be sidelined for seven to 10 days.

Ottawa Senators -- Bought out the contract of D Steve Konroyd, making him a free agent.

Quebec Nordiques -- Recalled D Joe Klemm from AHL Cornwall.

St. Louis Blues -- Recalled G Geoff Sarjeant from IHL Peoria on an emergency basis after G Curtis Joseph suffered a slight groin strain on Thursday.

Vancouver Canucks -- Re-signed D Bret Hedican to a multi-year contract.

Horse racing

NYRA -- Named Michael Lakow racing secretary.

TRA -- Announced the election of Clifford C. Goodrich as president.
