UMBC stops UNC-Asheville

ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- Artie Walker tied a career high with 20 points as UMBC held off North Carolina-Asheville, 72-66, in a Big South Conference game last night.

The Retrievers (7-10, 4-3) won for the sixth time in the past nine games. Eric Wyatt added 17 points for UMBC and Tony ` Thompson scored 13.

UNC Asheville led 37-35 at the half, but 11 points from Walker and eight points from Pascal Fleury helped UMBC build a 61-50 lead with 10:00 left in the game.

William Coley and Josh Kohn each scored 15 points to lead the Bulldogs (7-9, 3-3).
