David Cole, 32, Grammy-winning producer and half of the creative team behind C+C Music Factory and an acclaimed remixer for Natalie Cole and others, died Tuesday in New York of complications from spinal meningitis. He won a Grammy for "The Bodyguard" soundtrack, but he made his name while helping pump up the dance music resurgence of the late 1980s.

Hilda Cole Espy, 83, an author who wrote about her adventures in rearing five children after an early career as a publicity agent for Kate Smith and Fred Waring, died of heart failure Friday at the Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg, Pa.
