Marriner acquires Old City Group assets

Marriner Marketing Communications in Columbia has acquired the assets of Greenbelt-based Old City Group, an advertising business.

The company will be based in Columbia and retain Old City Group's offices to serve Washington clients.

Graphics Farm announces contracts

The Graphics Farm, a Columbia-based graphic design and desktop publishing company, has won contracts with the Holistic Skin and Body Care Center in Columbia, MicrosSol, a Columbia-based software and electronics development company, and Precision Turf Services in Bethesda.


Nellany is named to analysis post

Dennis J. Nellany has been named to the new position of director of strategic analysis and administrative services for AlliedSignal Technical Services Corp. in Columbia.

He will be responsible for developing and maintaining competitor and customer analysis that supports the company's growth strategies. Dr. Michael G. Macon has opened a practice at the Medical Arts Building, next to Howard County Hospital.

Dr. Macon, a general surgery specialist, served his internship and residency at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore. Raymond C. Simanowith has been named president and CEO of U.S. Design in Columbia, a supplier of optical products.

His past positions at the company have included chief operating officer and vice president of engineering.

Wetzel completes Carnegie course

Sis Wetzel of Ace World Wide Moving & Storage Company in Jessup has completed the 12-week Dale Carnegie Course.

She has been office manager for eight years at the company.

Davis is shareholder in accounting firm

Jeffrey E. Davis of Columbia has been named a shareholder in the accounting firm of Glass, Jacobson & Associates.

Mr. Davis has advised physician practices in the Baltimore-Washington region for more than 15 years.

Goldstein certified as fraud examiner

Charles R. Goldstein of Ellicott City was named a Certified Fraud Examiner by the Association of Fraud Examiners in Austin, Texas.

Mr. Goldstein is a member in the accounting firm of C. W. Amos & Co., in Baltimore.

Ferguson joins Town Center Travel

I an Ferguson has joined Columbia-based Town Center Travel and will specialize in European, Australian, New Zealand and South Pacific destinations.

He is accredited by the Australian Tourist Commission.
