Two pizza deliverymen robbed over weekend

January 24, 1995

Two pizza deliverymen from the same restaurant were robbed in separate incidents over the weekend while making deliveries in the Annapolis area, city police said yesterday.

Michael L. Brooks, who works for Pizza Boli's in the 1900 block of Forest Drive, was delivering two pizzas to a home in the 1900 block of Vincent Street shortly after 11 p.m. Friday when a man who appeared to be a customer approached him in the front yard, police said.

A second man slipped up behind Mr. Brooks, stuck something that felt like a handgun in his back and ordered Mr. Brooks to empty his pockets, police said. The two men fled with $150 and the driver's wallet, leaving the driver unharmed, police said.

The next night, Mohammed J. Alam, 34, who works for the same restaurant, was delivering a pizza to a house in the 1700 block of Belle Drive shortly before 11 p.m. when two men stuck what felt like a gun in his back and took money out of his jacket pockets. Police said the driver lost the pizza and $238 in cash.
