Navy's 66-51 win ends nine-game Army hex STATE WOMEN

Adi Schneck scored 19 points yesterday to help Navy (7-9, 3-2) to a 66-51 victory over visiting Army (2-13, 1-4), ending a nine-game losing streak to the Cadets.

Leading 26-24 at halftime, Navy outscored the Cadets 40-27. Kate Wells added 16 points for Navy and Becky Dowling had 15 and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.

* Western Maryland 77, Haverford 34: Erin Murphey (Francis Scott Key) and Katie Haley scored 18 points each as Western Maryland (10-2, 6-0) routed Haverford (3-11, 0-5) in a Centennial Conference game.

Murphey had a career-high 10 assists and Haley pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds for Western Maryland, which made just 11 of 45 first-half shots before converting 20 of 35 after halftime.

Koren Miller was the only Haverford player in double figures, with 12 points, and the Red Wave's Jodie Sampson topped all rebounders with 13.

* Bethany 68, College of Notre Dame 61: Jen Rookey scored 25 points, leading Bethany (10-5) past host Notre Dame (5-7). Julie Desmond led Notre Dame with 18 and Jen Chaney added 16.

Stephanie Cunningham had 11 points and 11 rebounds for Bethany.

* Goucher 89, Mary Washington 64: Sarah Weaver (Towson) scored 21 points and Cassandra Clemons (Loch Raven) added 14 and 16 rebounds, leading host Goucher College (8-6, 4-1) past Mary Washington (6-5, 1-3) in a Capital Athletic Conference game.

Goucher jumped to an 8-0 lead and never looked back, leading 51-28 at halftime. Its biggest lead was 72-41 with 11:16 left in the game.

Didi Cotton (Western) added 16 points for Goucher. Corrine May and Robin Coates scored 18 and 16 points, respectively, for Mary Washington.

* Johns Hopkins 84, Muhlenberg 66: Freshman guard Angie Arnold scored a career-high 24 points, leading Johns Hopkins (4-9, 1-6) past Muhlenberg (11-4, 5-1) in a Centennial Conference game. The Blue Jays also got 13 points and seven assists from Karen Hoffman. Lori Milot led Muhlenberg with 15.

* Gettysburg 85, Washington 63: Ann Hymes scored 29 and Kelly Geise had 14 and eight rebounds, leading Gettysburg (11-1, 5-1) past visiting Washington College in a Centennial Conference game.

Allison Wentworth (Old Mill) scored 18 points to lead Washington College.

* Salisbury State 66, Gallaudet 25: Kim Roth scored 18 points and had eight rebounds, leading Salisbury State (10-4, 6-1) past host Gallaudet (2-11, 0-4) in a Capital Athletic Conference game.

Ava Tasker had 12 points for Salisbury State, which led 43-14 at halftime. Amy Fenzel scored 11 points for the Sea Gulls. Safeera Khan scored eight points for Gallaudet, which shot 8-for-52.

* Morgan State 63, Bethune-Cookman 52: Tanya Williams scored 18 points and made six steals to lead Morgan State (2-12) over visiting Bethune-Cookman (4-10) in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game. Bethune-Cookman made only one of 12 three-point attempts and seven of 20 free-throw attempts.

Sherrie Jackson led Bethune-Cookman with 13 points and 19 rebounds. Tressan Dugan added 12 points for the Bears.
