1 Western (10-0) -- Last week's ranking: 1. The Doves, ranked 12th nationally by USA Today, extended their winning streak to 17 games with two victories. Western routed Patterson, 94-16, Tuesday, and Mervo, 90-22, Friday. Next game: Thursday at Walbrook.

2 Hammond (8-2) -- Last week's ranking: 2. The Golden Bears rallied from a five-point halftime deficit to edge Howard, 53-50, Wednesday. Friday, Rene Hines scored 22 in Hammond's 74-45 victory over Atholton. Next game: Today vs. No. 14 Mount Hebron.

3 Lake Clifton (7-1) -- Last week's ranking: 3. Natisha Ferguson and Lashina Gross each averaged 21.5 points in two Lakers routs. Lake Clifton rolled over Southwestern, 94-44, Tuesday, and Southern-B, 108-20, Friday. Next game: Tomorrow at Patterson.

4 St. Frances (12-5) -- Last week's ranking: 4. The Panthers remained unbeaten in the Catholic League after defeating Mercy, 55-35, Wednesday, and John Carroll, 63-47, Friday. On the road against two of New York's top teams, St. Frances lost to Christ The King (ranked No. 6 by USA Today), 64-41, Saturday, and St. Francis Prep, 61-52, in double overtime Sunday. Next game: Friday at No. 12 St. Mary's.

5 Fallston (9-1) -- Last week's ranking: 5. Jenny Weber scored a combined 30 points as the Cougars defeated C. Milton Wright, 64-36, Tuesday, and Edgewood, 69-28, Thursday. Next game: Friday at Joppatowne.

6 Old Mill (9-2) -- Last week's ranking: 6. The Patriots beat Meade, 61-40, Tuesday, and Northeast, 80-62, Friday. Next game: Today vs. Chesapeake-AA.

7 Severna Park (10-1) -- Last week's ranking: 7. Angela DeSalvo scored 18 and Jennifer Holmes added 16 in the Falcons' 75-37 win over South River on Tuesday. Friday, Severna Park defeated Broadneck for the second time this season, 50-45. Next game: Today at Annapolis.

8 South Carroll (11-1) -- Last week's ranking: 9. The Cavaliers extended their winning streak to 11 after defeating Damascus, 61-42, Tuesday, and Frederick, 78-41, Friday. Next game: Today vs. No. 13 Westminster.

9 Seton Keough (12-1) -- Last week's ranking: 10. Wednesday, the Gators defeated three-time defending league champion St. Mary's for the first time in four years, 54-53. Sunday, Seton Keough beat Mount de Sales, 42-36. Next game: Friday vs. Catholic.

10 Arundel (11-0) -- Last week's ranking: 12. Chavonne Hammond scored a combined 41 points, as the Wildcats rolled over Southern-AA, 66-23, Tuesday, and South River, 81-16, Thursday. Next game: Today at Meade.

11 Towson (8-0) -- Last week's ranking: 11. Wednesday, Katie Walker had 24 points and 19 rebounds as the Generals rallied from a five-point deficit after the first quarter to defeat Catonsville, 66-58. Friday, Katie Barnes scored 20 and Walker added 17 in a 70-35 rout of Milford Mill. Next game: Tomorrow vs. Carver A&T.

12 St. Mary's (9-6) -- Last week's ranking: 8. The Saints fell to 2-3 in the Catholic League with a 54-53 loss to Seton Keough on Wednesday. Next game: Tomorrow vs. Mercy.

13 Westminster (10-1) -- Last week's ranking: 13. Beth Lister scored 32 in the Owls' 79-43 victory over Frederick on Monday. Wednesday, Lister had 23 points as Westminster beat Montgomery Blair, 63-51. Friday, the Owls fell from the ranks of the unbeaten with a 76-59 loss to Linganore. Next game: Today at No. 8 South Carroll.

14 Mount Hebron (8-3) -- Last week's ranking: 19. Kathy Doyle averaged 19 points in three Vikings wins. Mount Hebron defeated Howard, 54-49, Monday; Centennial, 50-33, Wednesday; and Glenelg, 67-45, Friday. Next game: Today at No. 2 Hammond.

15 Howard (6-5) -- Last week's ranking: 14. The Lions' losing streak reached three after dropping a 54-49 decision to Mount Hebron on Monday and suffering a 53-50 loss to Hammond on Wednesday. Friday, Howard rebounded by defeating Wilde Lake, 48-39. Next game: Today at Centennial.

16 Wilde Lake (7-2) -- Last week's ranking: 16. The Wildecats defeated Glenelg, 56-44, Monday, and Atholton, 56-50, Wednesday, before losing to Howard, 48-39, Friday. Next game: Today vs. Oakland Mills.

17 Institute of Notre Dame (7-6) -- Last week's ranking: Not ranked. The Indians debut in the Top 20 after defeating Mount de Sales, 35-28, Tuesday, and Mercy, 52-38, Friday. Next game: Friday vs. John Carroll.

18 Mount de Sales (9-5) -- Last week's ranking: 15. The Sailors lost to IND, 35-28, Tuesday, and Seton Keough, 42-36, Sunday. Next game: Monday vs. No. 4 St. Frances at Loyola College.
