Charleston Southern stops UMBC

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Eric Burks scored 20 points and Brett Larrick added 16 to lead Charleston Southern over UMBC, 77-69, in a Big South Conference game last night.

The Buccaneers (7-6, 3-0) led by as many as 13 points before UMBC (5-8, 2-1) pulled to 47-43 with 14:29 left in the game. Charleston Southern responded, scoring 12 of the next 14 as Burks scored six.


Marc Lay led UMBC with 17 points and Tony Thompson added

16. Pascal Fleury scored 10.
