Emory edges Hopkins women

Ashley Gordon had 21 points and 16 rebounds as Emory University edged visiting Johns Hopkins, 72-71, in women's basketball last night. Katie Schutz added 15 for Emory.

Amy Dodrill scored 22 for Johns Hopkins. The Blue Jays' Karen Hoffman had 15 points and five steals.

* Frederick CC 99, Harford CC 31: Nicole Mamula made 11 of 15 shots and scored 24 points to lead Frederick (12-1) over host Harford for its 12th consecutive win.

Paula Bodette topped Harford with 18 points. Ashanta Sellers had 10 points, 17 rebounds, six steals and four assists.

* Anne Arundel CC 80, Catonsville CC 35: Courtney Finch scored 17 points to lead Anne Arundel CC (9-3) past Catonsville CC (0-3). Debbie Dadds had 11 points and 14 rebounds for the Pioneers.


* Emory 77, Johns Hopkins 62: Tom Bolster scored 16 points to lead Emory over visiting Johns Hopkins. The Blue Jays, led by Greg Rochrig's 19 points, shot 39 percent.

* Howard CC 81, Prince George's CC 79, OT: Deon Wingfield (Wilde Lake) scored six of his 18 points in overtime to lead Howard (12-4) past Prince George's (8-5). Randolph Edison (Edmondson) scored a game-high 26 points.
